Trump Warns Ukraine ‘May Not Survive’ War with Russia Despite Ongoing US Support | World News
President of the United States, Donald Trump, has indicated that Ukraine “may not survive” the ongoing war against Russia, even with continued American support.
In an interview on Fox News’ ‘Sunday Morning Futures’, Mr. Trump was questioned about his contentious choice to halt support for Kyiv as it resists Russia’s extensive invasion.
Following a troubled meeting with Mr. Zelenskyy at the White House last week, he was prompted to address a warning from Polish President Andrzej Duda, stating that “without American support, Ukraine will not survive”.
When asked if he was “comfortable” with such an outcome, the US president responded: “Well, it may not survive anyway.”
“But we have some weaknesses with Russia. You know, it takes two,” Mr. Trump continued.

This comes as Mr. Zelenskyy is set to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia on Monday, while Ukrainian diplomatic and military officials are scheduled to meet with a US delegation on Tuesday.
Mr. Trump’s recent comments arrive amid rising global concerns regarding the deteriorating relationship between Ukraine and the United States, which, alongside the EU, has been Kyiv’s principal ally in its defense against Russia’s ongoing invasion for the past three years.
This month, the US halted military aid and the exchange of intelligence with Ukraine following a meeting on February 28 between Mr. Trump and Mr. Zelenskyy that reportedly devolved into tension in front of the international media.

Mr. Trump ordered the pause in support as he seeks to push Mr. Zelenskyy towards negotiating a ceasefire with Russia.
Sources indicated that Mr. Trump has made it clear to his team that a signed minerals deal with Washington will not suffice to resume aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, according to NBC, Sky News’ US partner.

The 78-year-old president reportedly desires the deal to be signed but also wishes to see a change in Mr. Zelenskyy’s stance regarding peace negotiations.
Officials have disclosed to NBC News that Mr. Trump expects Mr. Zelenskyy to initiate some progress toward organizing elections in Ukraine and possibly consider stepping down as president of his country.
In a recent interview, Mr. Zelenskyy expressed he would be willing to resign if it would lead to NATO membership and peace for his country.
This statement followed Mr. Trump labeling him a “dictator” for not conducting fresh elections in Ukraine—despite legal restrictions preventing such actions during wartime.
