Trump’s FBI director pick Kash Patel takes aim at Deep State corruption | US News
Donald Trump vowed retaliation during his campaign, and his selection of loyalist Kash Patel as FBI director is a clear indication that he intends to follow through.
This spells trouble for many individuals within the top law enforcement agency in the US and the Department of Justice, who have attempted to investigate the incoming president on numerous criminal charges that have been dropped or put on hold due to the inability to prosecute a sitting president.
“Government gangsters” is how 40-year-old Patel has labeled them, the title of a book he wrote on what he perceives as Deep State corruption within the agency he is set to lead and beyond.

“We will seek out the conspirators. Not only in government, but in the media,” he declared to Trump’s former strategist Steve Bannon on his War Room podcast a year ago. “We will pursue you whether it’s through criminal or civil means.”

While Patel’s nomination requires Senate confirmation, the authority he will have to investigate and pressure individuals once in office may influence individual senators’ decisions.
He appears determined to dismantle the FBI. The impact this will have on the country’s security remains to be seen.
Regarding the Kushner family, the family ties continue to pay off. Donald Trump’s announcement that his son-in-law’s father Charles Kushner will be US ambassador to France places a man who was sentenced to two years in prison for tax evasion and witness tampering in a key diplomatic role.
Although Trump pardoned Kushner senior at the end of his previous term, it remains a controversial and unsavory choice.
The president-elect doesn’t seem to mind, particularly when it involves friends, family, or a connection to Florida, which many of his selections seem to share.
