Donald Trump is set to declare a state of emergency at the US-Mexico border as part of a series of executive orders that the incoming president plans to sign on Monday and in the days following.

Latest on Trump’s inauguration
One of the key executive actions will involve Mr. Trump declaring a national emergency regarding the US-Mexico border, which is part of a broader initiative to tighten immigration and tackle various cross-border criminal activities.
At a rally on Sunday, Mr. Trump reportedly stated: “You will witness executive orders that will greatly please [you], a significant number … we must redirect our country on the correct path.”
“By sunset tomorrow evening, the inflow on our borders will cease, and all individuals illegally crossing the border will be sent back home in one form or another.”
According to NBC News, Trump’s transition team suggests he may sign over 50 executive orders on Monday, potentially exceeding 100.
Border and Immigration
Concerning border matters, Mr. Trump is expected to announce a national emergency.
This action would partially reallocate defense department funds to back the US troops assigned to border-related missions.
During his first term, Mr. Trump enacted a similar measure after Congress denied the funds needed for constructing a border wall.
Energy and Climate
However, the border emergency is not the only one Mr. Trump is planning to declare.
NBC News reports that he is also expected to announce a second national emergency focused on enhancing domestic energy production capabilities.
In addition, he likely will: increase offshore and federal land drilling, undo a freeze on liquid natural gas exports, and eliminate climate-related funding approved under the Inflation Reduction Act signed by President Biden.

The Pentagon and Military
Mr. Trump plans to reverse a Biden order that permitted transgender individuals to serve openly in the military according to their self-identified gender.
The earlier order also secured greater access to medical care and support for gender transition.
Additionally, NBC News states that Mr. Trump intends to overturn two other decisions made by the Democrat who won the 2020 election.
One would relocate the US Space Command headquarters from Colorado to Alabama.
The second would annul a 2022 decision providing paid leave and reimbursed travel costs for military personnel and dependents seeking out-of-state abortion and other reproductive health services.
TikTok and Hunter Biden
Mr. Trump has stated that he will approve an extension for TikTok to locate a buyer, in order to comply with the law that went into effect on Sunday.
Furthermore, Mr. Trump plans to suspend security clearances for 51 national security officials who authored a letter asserting that Hunter Biden’s emails and laptop exhibited the characteristics of a Russian operation.
