Trump’s Schedule for Sunday: Pre-Inauguration Celebration Events

On Sunday, Jan. 19, Trump will participate in various events in the Washington area, while Biden will be spending his final full day as president in South Carolina.

President-elect Donald Trump is set to engage in several private and public activities on Jan. 19, just before his second presidential inauguration scheduled for Jan. 20.

The inaugural schedule kicked off on Jan. 18 and will extend until Jan. 21, the day following Trump’s swearing-in.

As per the schedule released by the Trump–Vance Inaugural Committee, Trump will take part in a private wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, on Jan. 19. Due to heightened security measures, road closures, and expected heavy traffic in the area, the cemetery will be shut to the public and family pass holders from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. EST, during the wreath-laying event.

Trump’s public appearance will increase later that day as he attends a Make America Great Again Victory Rally at the Capital One Arena in downtown Washington.

This pre-inauguration rally will be live-streamed and will feature performances by Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, The Village People, and Lee Greenwood. Additionally, the Liberty University Praise Choir will participate as part of a tribute event honoring Trump’s narrow escape from assassination during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, over the summer, which resulted in the tragic death of a rally attendee, Corey Comperatore, and Trump being grazed by gunfire.

Trump will conclude the victory rally with a speech directed at the crowd. Other notable speakers include Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, Elon Musk, former wrestling star Hulk Hogan, actor Jon Voight, UFC President Dana White, Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Anuel AA, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and prominent podcaster Megyn Kelly.

“President Trump is committed to bringing the nation together through the strength, security, and opportunities provided by his America First agenda,” stated Steve Witkoff and Kelly Loeffler, co-chairs of the Trump Vance Inaugural Committee, in an email to the press.

“The 2025 inaugural celebrations will symbolize President-elect Trump’s historic return to the Oval Office and the American people’s clear choice to Make America Great Again,” they continued.

After the rally, Trump will participate in a candlelight dinner, concluding his Sunday with another address to the attendees.

In contrast, President Joe Biden will spend his Sunday in Charleston, South Carolina. The White House has not disclosed the specifics of Biden’s events in South Carolina for his last full day in office.

On Monday, the Trump–Vance Inaugural Committee announced that Trump would attend a service at St. John’s Church in Lafayette Square before meeting the Bidens for tea at the White House, followed by his inauguration ceremony for the transfer of presidential power.

Due to forecasts of frigid weather, Trump’s second inauguration is scheduled to be held indoors at the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. While the ceremony traditionally occurs on the Capitol steps, expected temperatures could drop to as low as 25 degrees Fahrenheit in Washington on Monday.
