Tsunami Alert Issued Following 7.0 Magnitude Earthquake in California | US News
A tsunami alert has been activated after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the northern California coast.
The US National Tsunami Center issued the warning shortly before 11am local time on Thursday.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred 100km southwest of Ferndale, at a depth of 10km.
The tremors were widely felt throughout Northern California on Thursday.
