Tucker Carlson’s Fans Say They’re Leaving Fox News and Fox Nation Streaming Service

After Fox News announced on Monday that it had parted ways with primetime host Tucker Carlson, numerous people took to social media to announce they would stop watching the cable news network and cancel their subscriptions to its streaming service  Fox Nation.

Carlson had led a popular primetime show on the network called “Tucker Carlson Tonight” since 2016 and had been a fixture on the news channel even before then. Carlson’s conservative news commentary program had been one of the network’s most successful shows and regularly garnered more than three million viewers per episode.

In addition to his primetime news show, Carlson has also been a key figure on the Fox Nation streaming service, hosting several original programs and an interview show called “Tucker Carlson Today.” Carlson’s Fox Nation program had hosted numerous celebrity guests, including Tesla CEO and Twitter owner Elon Musk, actor Russell Brand, “Shark Tank” host Kevin O’Leary, and champion boxer Mike Tyson, among others.

At least one Twitter user said Carlson’s show was the only reason they subscribed to Fox Nation and that without him, she had decided to end her subscription. “I canceled my @foxnation subscription tonight. I only watched Tucker’s show. They will not get another penny. Delete them, too. @FoxNews.”

Scott Morefield, a writer for the conservative Townhall.com, also wrtoe in a tweet,  “I just canceled my Fox Nation subscription with the note: ‘No Tucker Carlson, no Fox Nation subscription. Goodbye.’ Who is doing the same?” Morefield’s tweet prompted numerous other Twitter users to reply saying they had done the same.

“Me renewal date was 4/27, so this was a convenient time to cancel. I had previously signed up for a two-year subscription,” one person wrote in a tweet.

As people announced they were ending their subscriptions, they shared screenshots and videos to prove they had indeed parted ways with the subscription service.

One user shared a screenshot in which she explicitly stated she was leaving the subscription service over Carlson’s departure from the network. On her screenshot, the user had selected a box indicating her reason for unsubscribing—”Fox Nation doesn’t include my favorite Fox News personalities”—followed by an additional comment: “As far I am concerned Fox is dead. Without Tucker Carlson you are just another bulls*** propaganda [mainstream media] outlet.”

Another Twitter user indicated Fox News’ other programs would not be enough to keep them interested in the network or its streaming service. “Just canceled my subscription to Fox Nation and promptly turned the channel. Only three shows interest me—The Five, Jesse Watters, and Gutfled! And I can miss these without a problem. I never missed Tucker. What a loss.”

It’s unclear how many subscribers Fox Nation has lost since announcing Carlson’s departure from the broader Fox

NTD News reached out to Fox News for comment.

Other news organizations have taken Carlson’s split with the Fox brand as an opportunity to raise their own profile.

“Who else is completely done with Fox now that @TuckerCarlson is gone?” tweeted One America News Network (OANN) host Alison Steinberg, with a pair of raised hand emojis. “All the more reason to tune in to #InFocus on @OANN tonight, at 6pm EST!”

OANN founder and CEO Rob Herring has already invited Carlson to begin discussing terms for joining his cable network.
