Twelve Walgreens Locations in San Francisco Set to Close in February
SAN FRANCISCO–According to a representative from Walgreens, the company plans to shut down 12 locations in San Francisco from February 24 to 27.
“Our retail pharmacy business is a key component of our future strategy,” stated Marty Maloney, the company’s Media Relations Director, in an email to The Epoch Times.
“However, the mounting pressures from regulations and reimbursements are impacting our ability to manage expenses related to rent, staffing, and supply needs.
“Closing a store is never an easy choice. We recognize how vital our stores are to the communities we serve, and we always strive to enhance their performance. When closures are unavoidable, such as those in San Francisco, we will collaborate with community stakeholders to lessen disruptions for customers.”
