Two crew members of Holland America cruise ship killed in an ‘incident’ in the Bahamas
Two crew members have tragically passed away on a Holland America cruise ship during an “incident” in the ship’s engineering space, the cruise line has confirmed.
The incident occurred on Friday while the Nieuw Amsterdam liner was docked at the small island of Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, according to Holland America’s statement.
Authorities have been informed and an investigation into the cause is underway.
Counselling has been offered to other crew members affected by the tragedy.
Holland America expressed deep sorrow over the deaths, stating: “Our thoughts and prayers are with our team members’ families during this challenging time.
“The safety, security, and well-being of all guests and crew members are our top priorities.”
No further information about the deceased crew members has been provided.
