Two Killed in Los Angeles Wildfires as Officials Warn of Expanding Blazes Across California | US News
Two individuals have lost their lives due to a wildfire in Los Angeles, according to officials, as firefighters work to control five separate fires across California.
Los Angeles County fire chief Anthony Marrone confirmed that the fatalities occurred in the Eaton fire, which is one of four escalating fires in the vicinity.

All four fires in Los Angeles—identified as the Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, and Woodley fires—remain at zero percent containment, as reported by California’s fire department, Cal Fire.
The sheriff’s department has indicated that approximately 70,000 residents throughout the city are under evacuation orders, and authorities have arrested two individuals for looting.
James McDonnell, the chief of police in Los Angeles, addressed the media, stating: “This is a heartbreaking time in our city’s history.”
“Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we remain patient, unite, and prioritize saving lives while performing our duties to the best of our abilities.”
Additionally, a fifth wildfire, known as the Tyler fire, has commenced in Riverside near the Nevada border, currently at 50% containment.
This situation arises following California Governor Gavin Newsom’s declaration of a state of emergency on Tuesday.
