US Attorney Signals Intent to Pursue Anyone Who Hinders Elon Musk’s DOGE Initiatives
“We will pursue any and all legal action against anyone who obstructs your work or poses a threat to your personnel,” he stated in a letter directed to Musk.
The acting U.S. attorney in Washington issued a statement on Monday confirming that he would take legal measures against any efforts to hinder Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
“We will pursue any and all legal action against anyone who obstructs your work or poses a threat to your personnel.”
He did not specify who might be issuing threats or hindering DOGE’s operations, although he hinted at Black Lives Matter protests and riots, as well as Antifa activities, from 2020.
“Late last week, we charged an economist who was employed at the Fed with economic espionage on behalf of the Communist Chinese,” he continued. “Please remain vigilant, as there are those working against our American populace in various ways.”
Musk has recently faced backlash from Democrats regarding DOGE and its involvement within multiple federal agencies. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) remarked in a post on Sunday that Trump was allowing Musk to “access people’s personal information and cut government funding.”
Last week, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) voiced concerns in a letter to new Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent regarding DOGE and Musk’s associates, suggesting they “may have aimed to access these payment systems to illegally withhold payments from various programs.”
“To be blunt, these payment systems absolutely must not fail, and any politically charged interference in them risks significant damage to our nation and economy,” Wyden articulated in his letter.
In comments to reporters on Sunday evening, Trump asserted that he believes the agency is currently overseen by radicals.
