US News: Murder suspect caught by police after falling through ceiling while hiding in attic of house
Police searching for a murder suspect apprehended him after he unexpectedly crashed through the ceiling.
Approximately a month following the shooting of Troy Cunningham in April in Memphis, Tennessee, US federal officers issued an arrest warrant for Deario Wilkerson.
On August 26, officers went to a residence in Memphis where they suspected the 20-year-old was hiding. After surrounding the home, Wilkerson sought refuge in the attic, as stated by the US Marshals Service in a press release.
While officers were inspecting the property, Wilkerson fell through the ceiling, scattering debris and dust throughout sections of the house’s kitchen.

Wilkerson was unharmed from the fall and was taken into custody on charges of first-degree murder and reckless endangerment-deadly weapon related to the killing.

Wilkerson was one of three suspects identified in the shooting, which took place after Mr Cunningham allegedly had his firearm stolen and used against him, as reported by Sky News’ US partner NBC News.

Cunningham was shot in the back of his head as he attempted to escape, according to the report.
