US News: Robert F Kennedy Jr Under Investigation for Alleged Use of Chainsaw to Decapitate Dead Whale
Robert F Kennedy Jr, a former US presidential candidate, has revealed that he is currently under investigation for using a chainsaw to decapitate a dead whale.
At a campaign event for Donald Trump in Glendale, Arizona, RFK Jr mentioned receiving a letter from the National Marine Fisheries Institute regarding a whale specimen he collected two decades ago.
Although the 70-year-old did not provide specifics about the incident, his daughter previously recounted how he had removed the head of a beached whale 30 years ago using a chainsaw. Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, aged 36, recalled the peculiar journey of transporting the whale head from Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, to their home in New York, with whale juice causing a foul odor inside the car.
RFK Jr responded to the National Marine Fisheries Institute’s letter, claiming the investigation is politically motivated.
He refuted claims of killing a whale when the story resurfaced, prompting an environmental group to call for further investigation by NOAA law enforcement officials.
The Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund (CBDAF) stated that possessing any parts of protected animals violates the Marine Mammal Protection Act and the Endangered Species Act, potentially resulting in felony charges for RFK Jr.
Last month, RFK Jr endorsed Donald Trump and suspended his independent presidential campaign. This decision followed controversy over an incident where he left a dead bear in Central Park, claiming he intended to make it appear as if the bear was hit by a bike.
RFK Jr’s actions regarding the bear have also drawn criticism from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, though the statute of limitations for the offense has expired.
RFK Jr’s family has a tragic history, with his father, Robert F Kennedy, being assassinated during his presidential campaign in 1968, and his uncle, John F Kennedy, being fatally shot in 1963.
