Vice President Vance to Speak at AI Summit in Paris
Vice President JD Vance landed in Paris on Monday, marking the start of his inaugural international journey since assuming office.
On Tuesday, Vance is slated to deliver a keynote address at the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit, a significant event that brings together world leaders, technology CEOs, and experts from over 100 nations.
The vice president has indicated that he plans to engage in open discussions with global leaders regarding AI and its geopolitical implications during the summit.
“I believe there’s a substantial opportunity for some leaders present at the AI summit to, quite frankly—bring an end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and assist us diplomatically there—so we will be concentrating on those discussions in France,” Vance told Breitbart News.
“The United States has historically led the way in artificial intelligence (AI) innovation, fueled by the vigor of our free markets, premier research institutions, and entrepreneurial drive,” the order states. “To maintain this leadership, we must cultivate AI systems that are devoid of ideological biases or engineered social agendas. With the appropriate governmental policies, we can cement our position as the world leader in AI and ensure a brighter future for every American.”

Thus far, policymakers at the AI summit have deliberated on the implications of this rapidly evolving technology on global security, economic conditions, and governance structures.
French President Emmanuel Macron recognized during the summit that excessive regulation can hinder AI innovation.
“We will simplify,” Macron stated. “It’s imperative that we synchronize with the rest of the world.”
Henna Virkkunen, the EU’s digital chief, has also committed to streamlining the bloc’s regulations to promote AI development.
This significant summit unfolds against the backdrop of increasing discussions surrounding the AI chatbot developed by the Chinese startup DeepSeek, which has quickly become the most downloaded application in the United States, raising security alarms similar to those surrounding the popular Chinese-owned platform TikTok.
After the AI summit, Vance’s diplomatic journey will proceed to Germany, where he will participate in the Munich Security Conference and urge European allies to bolster their commitments to NATO and Ukraine.
