Former president Barack Obama has refrained from endorsing Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate to replace Joe Biden.
In a statement, he expressed confidence in the party leaders to facilitate the emergence of an exceptional nominee.

So who is supporting Kamala Harris?
After he stepped aside, Joe Biden endorsed Ms Harris as his replacement, urging Democrats to unite and defeat Trump.
In response, Ms Harris expressed gratitude for the endorsement and emphasized her commitment to earning the nomination.
Subsequently, former president Bill Clinton and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton also endorsed Ms Harris, emphasizing the need to prevent Trump from securing a second term in office.
They lauded Mr Biden’s career and expressed their support for Ms Harris in a joint statement.

They emphasized the urgency of supporting Ms Harris to prevent Trump from potentially damaging the country further during a second term.
“Now is the time to support Kamala Harris and fight with everything we’ve got to elect.”

S. Senator Chris Coons, a long-time friend of Ms Harris, also supports her bid.

Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal from Washington’s 7th district was the first Democrat, aside from the president, to publicly endorse Ms Harris.
Other Democrats, including Jasmine Crockett, Steven Horsford, Gregory Meeks, and Mazie Hirono, have also thrown their support behind Ms Harris.
