The Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle series made its debut this morning, showcasing her experiences in California, her time in Argentina, and her passion for food.

With Love, Meghan – an eight-part series on Netflix – had its release postponed from January due to the wildfires in Los Angeles.

Each episode lasts around 30 minutes and features Meghan’s friends, along with some special appearances from her husband, Prince Harry.

When her celebrity friend Mindy Kaling, known for her role in The Office, asked her about seasoning eggs, the Duchess replied: “I have a family, a husband, who always puts salt on his food before tasting it, so I try to under-season.”

As Kaling inquired whether she learned to cook at home or later in life, Meghan shared: “I was a latch-key kid, which meant I grew up eating a lot of fast food and microwave dinners.”

“It seems like such a different era now, but that was perfectly normal with the microwavable meals for kids.”

‘I’m Sussex now’

When Kaling referred to her by her maiden name, the Duchess responded: “You keep calling me Meghan Markle; I’m Sussex now.”

“Having children makes me feel like I share my name with them… I had no idea how significant it would be, but it means so much to say, ‘this is our family name, our little family name.’

The first episode, titled “Hello Honey!”, features Meghan’s friend Daniel Martin as she prepares a “thoughtful guest basket.”

The episode starts with her collecting honey from bees and explaining, “The key is to keep a calm tone – talk in our bee voice.”

With the aid of a beekeeper, she emphasizes “staying calm because it’s beautiful to feel this connection.”

This lifestyle series was filmed in a California farmhouse instead of her home in Montecito, where she shares insights into her daily routine, including the “daily” task of picking seasonal fruits.

Similarities with Archie

In episode four, the Duchess goes hiking with her friend Delfina, where they enjoy a picnic with homemade focaccia bread.

She reminisces about her childhood, revealing how her son Archie shares similar habits: “As a child, I would take a bag of tea from our pantry, place it in a mason jar or an empty spaghetti sauce jar, put it in the sun, and wait for it to change color.

“Funny enough, Archie does the same thing now.”

Life in Argentina

The two friends were introduced through their husbands. Meghan reflects: “The moment we met, we connected over our shared appreciation for the outdoors. We always hike together when she’s in town, and occasionally, our husbands join too.”

Recalling their first encounter, she remarks: “It’s amusing; our first meeting, you said, ‘Wait a minute, you speak Argentinian Spanish?’ But it’s such a beautiful language because it sounds so melodic.”

Her friend replies: “When you started speaking Spanish and I recognized the Argentine accent, I was amazed because I had no idea…”

“That I lived there,” Meghan interjects.

She continues: “During my time in Argentina, I think the reason I loved it so much is that it reminded me of California in many ways, with the mountains and the enjoyment of life outdoors.

“I was only there for a few months, interning at the US Embassy, but it was an experience I truly cherished.”
