Woman fatally struck by airplane propeller | US News
A tragic accident has taken the life of a skydiver, Amanda Gallagher, 37, who was taking pictures of other skydivers at Wichita Cook Airfield in Kansas when she accidentally walked into a plane propeller, according to US media reports.
Emergency services responded to the scene in Sedgwick County around 3pm, and despite being rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, Ms. Gallagher passed away shortly after.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help support her family with funeral expenses, stating that the 37-year-old died while doing what she loved – skydiving and photography.
“As her family navigates through this tragic event, they could use assistance with covering the costs of the funeral,” the page states.
“Please consider contributing and keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.”

A spokesperson for the airfield expressed condolences, saying: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young woman who tragically lost her life after an accident involving an airplane propeller on Cook Airfield.”
“I was not present at the time of the incident, so I will refrain from speculating on what could have been done differently.”
The incident is currently under official investigation, they added.
As of now, the GoFundMe page has raised over $6,000 (£4,600).
Friends and family took to social media to remember Ms. Gallagher as “kind, adventurous, creative, and beautiful inside and out”.
