Woman Killed in Accident While Police Address Bomb Threat Targeting Marjorie Taylor Greene

Greene conveyed her sorrow regarding the incident, stating, “I hope this never occurs again.”

According to the congresswoman, a woman lost her life in a car crash involving a police officer who was responding to a bomb threat directed at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).

“I’m deeply saddened right now. I just learned that an innocent woman lost her life today in a traffic accident involving a member of the Rome Police bomb squad who was rushing to address the threat at my residence,” posted Greene on X on December 9.

Greene named the deceased as Tammie Pickelsimer.

“These violent political threats have devastating outcomes. It places an excessive burden on our law enforcement, who are compelled to take such threats seriously. The officer was acting to safeguard my life, and now, a woman has tragically lost hers because of this heinous act,” Greene stated in her post.

“I’m extremely distressed, but I also feel anger. This should never have occurred, and I hope it never happens again.”

The Epoch Times contacted the Rome, Georgia police department for a response but did not receive a reply before publication.

On December 9, Greene’s office reported that she was the subject of a bomb threat, which was sent via email to police but ultimately turned out to be a hoax, traced back to a Russian IP address.

The threat included pro-Palestinian rhetoric, as noted by Greene’s office.

“Using a 1 x 8 inch threaded galvanized pipe, end caps, a kitchen timer, some wires, metal clips, and homemade black powder, I’ve crafted a pipe bomb which I recently concealed in Marjorie Taylor Greene’s mailbox at [redacted address],” the threat stated.

“It is set to detonate over the weekend but will also explode the next time anyone opens the mailbox. Even if Marjorie does not open the mailbox herself, I take satisfaction in the thought of some corrupt officers losing their lives or being harmed. Viva Viva Palestina.”

This marks not the first occasion Greene has faced threats.

In December 2023, she was targeted by a “swatting” incident at her residence. Swatting is when police, often SWAT teams, respond to a false report of a dangerous situation at someone’s home, which can lead to serious injury or even fatalities for the target.
