14 Pro-Palestinian Protesters Arrested by Vancouver Police for Blocking Rail Lines

14 individuals were apprehended by the police during a protest conducted by pro-Palestinian demonstrators who were obstructing rail lines in Vancouver on Friday.

Cst. Tania Visintin mentioned that the demonstrators, who were blocking the Canadian National Railway lines in East Vancouver, declined multiple requests to vacate the area and some even displayed hostility towards officers.

After more than three hours from the initial police call, 14 protesters were arrested for causing mischief and obstruction at 2:30 p.m., as stated by Visintin.

“Unlawful protests that impede crucial infrastructure endanger people’s safety,” Visintin stated.

She explained that the police intervention was necessary to prevent an extended blockade and also involved CN Police and Metro Vancouver Transit Police.

The protesters had previously issued a news release displaying individuals on the tracks, demanding sanctions against Israel for their actions in Gaza.
