A Brief Overview of America
President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump came together at the White House for a friendly meeting on Nov. 13. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the smooth transition of power between administrations.
The meeting lasted for approximately two hours and primarily focused on national security issues. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan stated that Biden reiterated his support for Ukraine during the meeting.
In the United States, it is customary for incoming and outgoing presidents to meet during the transition period. While Trump met with former President Barack Obama in 2016, he did not extend the same courtesy to Biden during the controversial 2020 elections, during which Trump raised concerns about election interference.
