Rudy Giuliani Defies Court Order in Defamation Case
A New York judge recently ordered former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani to swiftly relinquish assets, including a Mercedes and a watch passed down from his grandfather, as part of a $148 million defamation judgment against him.
Giuliani, who previously served as a legal adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, was found guilty of defamation in December 2023 for suggesting on social media that Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, were involved in election fraud during the 2020 presidential election.
Despite the court order, Giuliani failed to comply with the directive, leading prosecutors to summon him to appear in court on Nov. 7 to provide an explanation for the lack of progress in the asset transfer, with a deadline set for Nov. 11.
