Accident in Southwest Pakistan: 17 Pilgrims Dead and 16 Injured as Bus Crashes



In QUETTA, Pakistan, a bus carrying pilgrims crashed into a deep ditch in southwest Pakistan, resulting in the death of 17 individuals and injuring 16 others, officials confirmed on Thursday.

The pilgrims were on their way to a revered religious site in Baluchistan on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr celebrations, which is a public holiday in Pakistan, according to Shahid Rind, a spokesperson for the provincial government.

The bus driver lost control of the vehicle in Las Bela district, only 25 kilometers away from the shrine the pilgrims intended to visit.

Out of the injured, 15 individuals in critical condition were taken to a hospital in the neighboring Sindh Province. The bus had a total of 33 passengers, including the driver.

Chief Minister of Baluchistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, expressed his sorrow over the tragic accident.
