Agropur Dairy Co-operative Experiences Cyberincident With Limited Impact
Agropur has reported being the target of a cyberincident, which has primarily affected a portion of its shared online directory.
The incident occurred recently and did not impact the company’s transactional systems, as stated by the dairy processor on July 2.
“The continuity of our operations remained intact. We can confirm that some employees and stakeholders have been impacted by this incident,” mentioned spokesperson Guillaume Bérubé via email.
Bérubé indicated that those affected have been notified, and steps have been taken to minimize the consequences of the incident and bolster data security.
Last Friday, cybersecurity news website BleepingComputer first reported the cyberattack on Agropur.
An investigation was initiated by Agropur to assess the nature and extent of the incident. The company is collaborating with external cybersecurity specialists and liaising with law enforcement.
Mr. Bérubé mentioned that the cooperative is refraining from offering additional comments at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
Agropur is a company owned by over 3,000 dairy farmers and ranks among the top 20 dairy processors globally. In 2023, its gross annual sales reached $8.2 billion.
