Alberta Sending Water Bombers and Helicopters to Assist in Battling Los Angeles Wildfire

Alberta is getting ready to dispatch water bombers, night-vision helicopters, and incident command team support to aid in the fight against wildfires devastating parts of Los Angeles.

Premier Danielle Smith stated that neighbors always stick together in times of crisis, and the province will offer assistance to its American friends during this difficult time.

Water-bombing pilots and crews from Quebec and a British Columbia company are already actively battling the wind-whipped flames in the city of Southern California.

Officials have reported that hurricane-force winds started igniting neighborhoods one after another on Wednesday in the coastal areas of Pacific Palisades and Altadena, near Pasadena.

The fires have claimed the lives of five individuals, forced over 100,000 people from their homes, and put famous landmarks at risk.

Nearly 2,000 homes, businesses, and other structures have been destroyed, with the numbers expected to rise.
