ANZ App and Online Banking Outage Resolved, Service Returns
The bank issued a tweet stating that there was “a technology issue relating to a third party vendor”.
ANZ experienced an outage that prevented some customers from accessing its app or logging into its internet banking website for several hours.
The outage started early Tuesday afternoon and lasted for approximately two hours before access gradually started to return. The bank issued a tweet explaining that it was due to “a technology issue relating to a third party vendor”.
ANZ clarified that its ATMs, phone banking, the ANZ Plus app, EFTPOS facilities, Apple Pay, and Google Pay were not affected by the outage.
In a similar incident, its competitor Commonwealth Bank also faced a major outage in March which disrupted online services for customers.
