Australia Added to Beijing’s Free Visa Program
Australian travelers can now enjoy up to 15 days in China without the need for a visa, a new policy announced during Premier Li’s visit to Australia.
This initiative allows tourists and business people to make short trips to China without the usual $110 visa processing fee. Premier Li made the announcement in Canberra, along with the agreement for five-year visas.
“Both countries have agreed to provide reciprocal access to five-year multiple entry visas for tourism, business, and visiting family members to enhance personal exchanges,” said Mr. Li.
Australia will also be included in China’s visa waiver program as part of the new agreement. Mr. Li emphasized the positive relationship between Australia and Beijing, stating that it is moving in the right direction.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also mentioned the renewal of engagement between Australia and China, highlighting the cooperation on various Memorandums of Understanding and arrangements, particularly focusing on tackling climate change.
The relationship between the two nations was a significant focus during Mr. Li’s visit, with discussions on trade, climate issues, and cooperation in various sectors. The visit marked the first official visit to Australia by a CCP premier since 2017, emphasizing the importance of trade between the two countries.
