BC RCMP Arrests Individual Closely Linked to Quebec Gang Leader
MONTREAL—Police in Quebec City announce the arrest of a man believed to have close connections to the leader of Quebec street gang Blood Family Mafia.
According to city police spokesperson Pierre-Olivier Lévesque, 28-year-old Guillaume St-Louis Bernier was apprehended by the RCMP in Kelowna, B.C., on June 30 after a routine police stop.
An arrest warrant had been issued nationwide for St-Louis Bernier back in March on charges of drug trafficking and possession of stolen property.
St-Louis Bernier is identified as a “close associate” of the alleged gang leader Dave “Pic” Turmel, who faces charges of gun violence and drug trafficking, as reported by Quebec City police.
Turmel, currently on the run, has been a target of Quebec City police since July 2023, as part of an operation initiated in February 2019 to combat the surge in violence associated with drug trafficking.
Lévesque stated that members of Quebec City’s tactical intervention unit journeyed to B.C. to bring St-Louis Bernier back, with his court appearance scheduled via videoconference on Saturday.
