Beloved Edmonton Actor Passes Away Onstage During ‘A Christmas Carol’ Show
Edmonton’s theatre community is mourning the loss of a well-known actor who died during a performance at the Citadel Theatre.
Julien Arnold, a popular stage actor, passed away suddenly while performing in “A Christmas Carol” on Nov. 24 at the age of 60.
“Last night, I witnessed my dear friend Julien Arnold give his whole heart during his final performance,” shared play director Lianna Makuch in a post.
The Citadel Theatre has decided to dedicate the remainder of the season’s run of “A Christmas Carol” to Arnold’s memory. Arnold played Marley, Mr. Fezziwig, and Banjo, in addition to being part of the ensemble, as stated on the theatre’s website.
The show will continue until Dec. 24, with some schedule adjustments to allow performers and staff to cope with the loss of their colleague. Ticket holders affected by schedule changes will be contacted, according to the theatre.
