Biden: Progress Made Toward Israel-Hamas Cease-Fire, but Final Agreement Still Pending
President Joe Biden stated in the Oval Office on Friday that “we are closer than we’ve ever been” to achieving a cease-fire and hostage deal in the Israel–Hamas conflict, but emphasized that they have not reached that point yet.
The president’s remarks came as mediators concluded their two-day peace talks aimed at ending the Israel–Hamas War. They are scheduled to reconvene in Cairo for further discussions.
