Brian Mulroney’s Sons Grateful for Canadians’ Touching Tributes: ‘He Is Smiling Down’

Brian Mulroney’s three sons affirm that their father would have been delighted by the recent public tributes honoring his life.

Continuing for a fourth consecutive day, Mr. Mulroney’s sons Ben, Mark, and Nicolas are present on March 22 alongside their mother, sister, and other family members to receive the constant flow of individuals paying their respects at their father’s casket.

The body of the former prime minister is currently in repose for a second day at Montreal’s St. Patrick’s Basilica, following two days of lying in state in Ottawa where he received visits from the prime minister, other dignitaries, and the general public.

Mark Mulroney explains that the decision to spend four lengthy days greeting the public evolved from a natural desire to support their mother Mila Mulroney, who is reluctant to leave her late husband’s side.

Nicolas Mulroney shares that the week has been emotional, but he and his brothers feel invigorated after hearing numerous stories from Canadians about how their father influenced their lives.

A state funeral is scheduled for March 23 at Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica, featuring eulogies from Mr. Mulroney’s daughter Caroline, former Quebec premier Jean Charest, and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.
