British Teenager Admits to Killing Girls, Triggering Widespread Riots
Axel Rudakubana admitted to three counts of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder, possession of ricin, and an Al Qaeda training manual.
The teenager accused of murdering three young girls in Southport last July admitted to all charges on the first day of his trial. The incident occurred during a Taylor Swift-themed dance event in Southport, leading to shock and unrest in the UK.
Rudakubana also confessed to attempting to murder eight other children, an instructor, and a businessman. Other offenses included possession of a knife, production of ricin, and possession of information related to terrorism.
During a search of his home in Banks, Lancashire, authorities found ricin and the Al Qaeda document. Now, Rudakubana’s trial at Liverpool Crown Court is expected to last four to six weeks.
He will be sentenced later this week. The UK Attorney General’s office warned against posting prejudicial information online, emphasizing the importance of a fair trial.
