Canada commits millions of dollars for drone manufacturing and ammunition in support of Ukraine
The federal government is allocating $3 million for the production of drones in Ukraine to support Kyiv’s efforts against Russia’s invasion.
Defence Minister Bill Blair announced that this financial assistance is being provided in partnership with the United Kingdom.
During a discussion with a group of defence leaders, Mr. Blair also revealed a $13 million contribution to the Czech Republic’s initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine.
These announcements follow through on funding commitments made last year, when the Liberal government pledged $500 million in military support.
Mr. Blair also shared updates on previously announced donations, stating that the initial shipment of armoured vehicles and 10 tactical boats promised to Ukraine are expected to be delivered this summer.
