Canada-Wide Recall of Universal Brand Organic Aussie Bites for Undeclared Gluten


The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling Universal Bakery brand Organic Aussie Bites, stating that the product contains gluten which was not listed on the label.

These small snacks were originally labeled as gluten-free.

This product was distributed online and in various stores across Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.

The snacks were packaged in 850 gram bags with a best before date of August 28, 2024.

The CFIA advises individuals with celiac disease or other gluten-related conditions to avoid consuming the recalled product as it could lead to severe or life-threatening reactions.

There has been one reported reaction from someone who consumed the snack bites.
