Carney and Arya Officially Enter the Liberal Leadership Race, Filing Paperwork
Mark Carney and Chandra Arya have officially entered the Liberal leadership race by submitting their paperwork before the deadline tomorrow.
They are the first candidates to do so, meeting the requirements of providing signatures and a $50,000 deposit.
Other candidates have until Thursday at 5 p.m. to submit their deposit along with a written nomination signed by 300 registered Liberals.
Karina Gould intends to meet the deadline, but there has been no response from Chrystia Freeland’s campaign.
Two additional candidates announced their plans to join the race today, including former Brampton MP Ruby Dhalla.
Another candidate, Michael Clark, a Christian community organizer and businessman, has also joined the race with a focus on making the party pro-life.
