The statement highlighted four types of people who pose a threat to China’s financial security: those who predict the decline of the Chinese economy, those who are withdrawing funds from China, those who promote the idea of transferring capital out of China, and those who are draining the Chinese economy from within. The Ministry vowed to punish such “financial crimes” in accordance with the law. This unusual statement has attracted international attention and raised concerns about the CCP’s control over the economy. Observers have questioned the Ministry of National Security’s authority to interfere in economic matters and have expressed worries about the growing influence of spies in governing the country.
