CFIA issues recalls for various brands of almond, cashew, coconut, and oat milk over Listeria concerns
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for a number of Silk and Great Value brand plant-based refrigerated beverages due to Listeria concerns.
This recall includes Silk brand almond milk, coconut milk, almond-coconut milk, and oat milk, as well as Great Value brand almond milk.
The recall was initiated following an investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak, with reported illnesses linked to the consumption of these products.
If you believe you have become ill after consuming any of the recalled items, especially those with best-before dates of Oct. 4, it is recommended to consult your healthcare provider for medical advice.
Recalled products should be disposed of or returned to the place of purchase.
The CFIA warns that Listeria contamination may not be visually or odorously detectable but can still cause illness, with symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, headache, and neck stiffness.
