Colombian Man Accused of Killing 2 Men Whose Bodies Were Discovered in Suitcases

Following the discovery of two men’s bodies in suitcases near Clifton suspension bridge in Bristol last Wednesday, a man has now been charged with murder.

A Colombian national, Yostin Andres Mosquera, 34, has been accused of murdering Paul Longworth, 71, and Albert Alfonso, 62, who hailed from France. The victims lived together in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, with Mosquera as their lodger.

Mosquera is scheduled to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday and is expected to face trial at the Central Criminal Court next year.

Avon and Somerset Police initiated a manhunt after an individual fled the scene upon being confronted while leaving the suitcases on the bridge. The investigation has since been taken over by the Metropolitan Police.

The Metropolitan Police mentioned in a statement on their website that they are exploring potential linked offenses in the UK or abroad.

Detectives Continuing Investigation

Detectives are diligently working to piece together all relevant information to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Andy Valentine expressed his condolences to the loved ones of the victims and mentioned that specialized support is being provided to the identified relatives.

Valentine also assured the community that, although the investigation is ongoing, they are not actively seeking any other suspects in connection to the murders.
