Commentator Claims Islamists and Far Left Groups are Exploiting Anti-British Sentiment
Momus Najmi is warning that ignoring the real threats of Islamism could result in the emergence of a far-right ‘ethno-nationalist’ movement.
An influential commentator cautioned that Islamists and the far left are working together to capitalize on anti-British sentiment to take over the country.
He highlighted that since aligning with the Palestinian cause on October 7, 2023, far-left groups in the UK have expressed support for organizations like Hamas, leading to significant protests throughout England.
Mr. Najmi, who was born into a relatively liberal Muslim family in Kuwait, shared his journey from leaving Islam as a teenager in Pakistan to eventually relocating to England.
His concern lies in the rising influence of Islamists in the UK, who are stoking tensions and could escalate into active participation if provoked.
He emphasized that both the far left and Islamists harbor disdain for Britain’s existence.
He explained, “It’s not about Gaza, it’s an opportunity to take hold of Britain, in one way or another, [and] have their influence.”
Furthermore, he shed light on the link between Islamism and Communism, citing historical instances from Pakistan where leaders had socialist leanings and promoted a mix of Islam and socialism.
Mr. Najmi also expressed concern over the political landscape, signaling potential Islamist forces within Parliament by 2029 and the need for stricter immigration policies to combat extremism.
