Concordia and Student Union Face Lawsuit for Alleged Failure to Address Antisemitism on Campus

A lawsuit application is filing against Concordia University in Montreal and its student union, alleging their failure to adequately address antisemitism on campus.

The application seeks $15 million in damages for Jewish members, including students, faculty, and staff currently or previously associated with the school in the last three years.

Two students and a professor at Concordia, who filed the application in Quebec Superior Court on Nov. 16, are seeking anonymity due to fear of retaliation.

Among the incidents mentioned in the lawsuit are altercations between pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian students, as well as Concordia’s failure to investigate and offer support for antisemitic acts committed against Jewish students.

Concordia has declined to comment on the legal proceedings, and the Concordia Student Union has not responded to requests for comment.
