Conservatives raise an impressive $41.8 million in 2024, nearly double the amount raised by the Liberals and NDP combined.
The Conservative Party raised a record-breaking $41.8 million in 2024, nearly double the amounts raised by the Liberal Party and New Democrats that year, as reported by Elections Canada.
The Tories raised $10.7 million in the first quarter of 2024, $9.8 million in the second quarter, and $8.4 million in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, they raised $12.8 million, setting a record for a single quarter.
“Even with the Canada Post strike affecting mail donations, the Party raised $7.6 million in December alone,” they mentioned.
In 2024, the Conservatives had about 211,000 donors with an average contribution of $198. The Liberals received donations from over 118,000 individuals with an average of $128 each, while the NDP had nearly 60,000 donors contributing an average of $105 each.
The Liberal Party raised $3.1 million in the first quarter, $3.8 million in the second, $3.3 million in the third, and $5 million in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, the NDP received $1.3 million in the first three quarters and $2.4 million in the final quarter.
The Conservative Party attributed the increase in donations from hardworking Canadians to the popularity of Pierre Poilievre’s common sense message and promise to prioritize Canada.
“It’s evident that Canadians desire a carbon tax election so a Common Sense Conservative government can eliminate the tax, bolster housing, stabilize the budget, and combat crime,” they expressed.
The upcoming federal election could take place this spring, as all opposition parties intend to support a non-confidence motion when Parliament resumes on March 24.
The Liberal Party is currently conducting a leadership race ending on March 9, with over 400,000 Canadians registered to participate in the vote.
