Former President Bolsonaro of Brazil Admitted to Hospital Once More Due to Skin Infection
Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro announced on Sunday that he had to be admitted to the hospital in Manaus due to a skin infection caused by bacteria. He mentioned that there is no set date for his discharge.
Bolsonaro shared on social media that he was hospitalized for erysipelas, a skin condition he previously had in 2022. He was briefly hospitalized on Saturday as well, confirmed by a spokesperson.
Due to spreading electoral misinformation during the 2022 election, Bolsonaro is barred from holding political office until 2030. He lost his reelection bid to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
In addition, Bolsonaro faces formal accusations of fraud in connection to his COVID-19 vaccination records.
