Frank Stronach Accused of New Sexual Assault Charges by Three More Complainants

Billionaire businessman Frank Stronach is facing additional sexual assault charges involving three more complainants dating back to the 1980s and 1990s, according to court documents.

These new charges bring the total number of accusers in his case to 13. Stronach, 92 years old, was initially charged in early June with five sex-related offences involving three complainants. Peel Regional Police added more charges later in the month as additional complainants came forward, with allegations dating back to 1977 and as recent as February of this year.

Court documents filed in Brampton-Ont. courthouse last week reveal that Stronach is now facing five more offences, including sexual assault and indecent assault, totaling 18 charges. These alleged offenses are said to have taken place in Toronto and Gormley, Ont., north of the city.

Stronach, set to appear in court on October 7, has consistently denied all allegations and argued in a CBC interview that his accusers are driven by financial motives. His former lawyer Brian Greenspan has vowed to “vigorously” defend his reputation in court.

Stronach’s current lawyer, Leora Shemesh, has not yet commented on the latest charges.

Stronach rose to become one of Canada’s wealthiest individuals after founding auto parts giant Magna in 1957. He also created The Stronach Group for horse racing and established Stronach International in 2018, focusing on organic foods and micro-electric mobility.

In 2011, Stronach resigned as Magna’s chairman and founded his own political party in Austria the following year.

Magna International Inc. has initiated a review of its historical records in response to the charges against Stronach. The company’s spokesperson, Tracy Fuerst, stated that if any relevant information is found, the company will adhere to a strict protocol, respecting the legal rights of all involved and cooperating with authorities.

During the internal document review, one settlement related to a historical harassment accusation against Stronach and Magna Entertainment Corp. was identified, which had previously been reported.
