Freedom Convoy Posts to be Examined in Pat King Trial
The criminal trial of Freedom Convoy organizer Pat King is set to focus on his social media posts during the 2022 protest that paralyzed Ottawa.
Mr. King has pleaded not guilty to nine charges related to his involvement in the protest, including allegations of inciting others to break the law.
The Crown claims that Mr. King played a leading role in the protest, which saw hundreds of vehicles block the streets of Ottawa for nearly three weeks.
The disruption caused by constant horn honking, diesel fumes, and blocked streets affected daily life and city services.
Throughout the protest, Mr. King live-streamed his experiences and communicated with fellow protesters on social media.
Many of these videos are expected to be used as evidence in the Crown’s case.
