Health Minister Affirms Liberal Commitment to Policies Agreed Upon in NDP Deal
Health Minister Mark Holland affirms that his government remains committed to advancing the policies that were outlined in the now-defunct agreement with the NDP.
Just a week ago, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh terminated the pact with the minority Liberals, putting a halt to some of the proposed measures.
These initiatives include the pending Safe Long-Term Care Act, the ongoing expansion of dental care, and the progression of a pharmacare bill currently under review in the Senate.
Holland emphasizes that the Liberals still prioritize these initiatives and will approach parliamentary matters on a case-by-case basis moving forward.
The minister reveals ongoing discussions with both the Bloc Québécois and the NDP to explore collaborative efforts.
This week, the Bloc signaled its willingness to support the minority government in exchange for actions that benefit Quebec.
