Individual Charged for Development of Online Game Promoting Child Abuse
A man who has been accused by the police of creating and operating an exploitation game that enabled subscribers to imitate sexual offenses against children has been charged in a groundbreaking investigation.
The 31-year-old was apprehended at his residence in Geelong earlier this month and subsequently indicted with various offenses, including the control, production, and possession of child abuse material.
According to the police, the man designed an online platform consisting solely of animated images and charged individuals for subscriptions to engage in simulated offenses.
“It is believed that several individuals in Australia and around the world had paid subscriptions for the game,” stated Victoria Police in a press release on Sunday.
