Irish Prime Minister Expresses Shock Over Canadian Tourist’s Death Following Suspected Assault

Ireland’s prime minister expresses his deep shock and disgust over the tragic assault that led to the death of a Canadian tourist in Dublin.

Simon Harris condemned Neno Dolmajian’s death as “reprehensible” and “horrific” during a parliamentary session on July 3, revealing that the incident is now being treated as a murder.

The national police of Ireland confirmed on July 2 that a man in his 40s passed away in the hospital following an assault involving multiple individuals on O’Connell St. and Cathal Brugha St. on the early hours of June 23.

They disclosed that four men have been taken into custody in connection to the attack, with two of them facing charges.

Although the police did not disclose the victim’s identity, politicians and media outlets have identified him as a 41-year-old Canadian tourist.

Opposition leader Mary Lou McDonald reported that Mr. Dolmajian succumbed to his injuries in the hospital with his family by his side, urging Mr. Harris to address issues related to anti-social behavior, drug trafficking, and gang activities in Dublin’s city center.
