Israel launches airstrikes against Houthis in Yemen
The Israel Defense Forces have targeted Hezbollah in Lebanon by eliminating the group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah.
On Sept. 29, Israel announced that it conducted strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen in response to a recent Houthi attack on Israel.
After the Houthis launched a ballistic missile on Sept. 28 toward Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv, Israel intercepted the attack.
This attack coincided with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s return from the United States, where he addressed the United Nations General Assembly.
On Sept. 15, the Houthis also targeted the airport, but their weapons were intercepted by Israel.
“The IDF is committed to taking action against all threats to Israel’s citizens, regardless of distance,” stated the IDF.
Following the strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon, including the elimination of the group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, Israel carried out strikes on Sept. 29 in southern Lebanon that resulted in the death of at least 24 people and injuries to 29 others, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. In northern Lebanon, an IDF strike led to the death of 21 people and injuries to at least 47 others, as reported by the ministry.
