Israeli airstrikes result in the death of Hamas leader in Lebanon and 3 terrorist leaders in Beirut.
Palestinian terrorist group Hamas stated that its leader in Lebanon was killed in an Israeli strike on Monday. Another Palestinian terrorist group reported the deaths of three of its leaders in a strike on Beirut, marking the first attack within the city limits.
Hamas confirmed the death of its leader in Lebanon, Fateh Sherif Abu el-Amin, along with his wife, son, and daughter in a strike targeting their residence in the southern city of Tyre early on Monday. Tyre also houses a Palestinian refugee camp.
As Israel intensifies its offensive against Iran’s allies in the region, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) announced that three of its leaders were killed in a strike on Beirut’s Kola district.
Witnesses reported that the strike hit the upper floor of an apartment building in Beirut.
There was no immediate response from Israel’s military regarding the incidents.
Israel’s heightened attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi group in Yemen have raised concerns about escalating conflicts in the Middle East, potentially involving Iran and the United States, Israel’s primary ally.

Israel carried out airstrikes against the Houthi group in Yemen and numerous Hezbollah targets across Lebanon on Sunday after eliminating the Hezbollah leader.
The Houthi-run health ministry reported four deaths and 29 injuries in airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah port, in response to Houthi missile attacks according to Israel. In Lebanon, authorities confirmed at least 105 casualties from Israeli airstrikes on Sunday.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry stated that over the past two weeks, more than 1,000 Lebanese citizens have been killed and 6,000 injured, with the government estimating that a million people, a fifth of the population, have fled their homes. Israel claims to provide advanced warnings to civilians and asks for their cooperation in evacuating areas prior to strikes.
The intensified Israeli attacks in the last two weeks have resulted in the deaths of several top Hezbollah leaders, including leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Israel has pledged to continue its offensive to restore security in its northern regions for residents displaced by Hezbollah rocket attacks.
Israeli drones were sighted over Beirut throughout Sunday, with new airstrikes resonating in the Lebanese capital. Displaced families sought refuge at Zaitunay Bay, a strip of restaurants and cafes along Beirut’s waterfront.
Many of Israel’s strikes have targeted southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah operates prominently, and the southern suburbs of Beirut.
The strike in Beirut’s Kola district on Monday marked the first attack within the city limits. Syrian residents from southern Lebanon, fleeing Israeli airstrikes, had been sheltering under a bridge in the area for several days, as per local residents.
The United States has called for a diplomatic resolution in accordance with existing U.N. Security Council resolutions, violated by Hezbollah, prompting retaliation from Israel.
When asked about the possibility of averting an all-out war in the Middle East, U.S. President Joe Biden stated that it must be avoided. He also mentioned plans to engage in discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
