Israeli President States Intent to Protect and Defend People, Not Seeking War with Iran
President Isaac Herzog of Israel acknowledged that Iran launched over 300 rockets towards his country on Saturday, but he emphasized that Israel is not looking to escalate tensions into a full-blown conflict.
President Herzog stated that Israel isn’t actively pursuing war with Iran despite the recent attack. However, the missile onslaught necessitates some form of response.
Despite calling Iran’s assault a declaration of war, President Herzog emphasized the need for a measured response and held a war cabinet meeting to determine the appropriate course of action. Iran warned of a stronger retaliation in case of any Israeli response.
President Herzog stressed the need for a balanced response to safeguard the Israeli population while understanding the complexities of the situation.
Herzog Calls for Global Unity Against Iran
President Herzog urged world leaders to unite against Iran, describing it as an “empire of evil” that threatens the values of the free world. He emphasized the necessity to confront Iran’s aggression promptly.
According to President Herzog, the rocket attack was part of Iran’s strategy to portray itself as a victim and justify future attacks on Israel as defensive measures.
