Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, Reveals Plan to Invest Billions in Enhancing Canada’s AI Capabilities

The Liberal government is allocating $2.4 billion in the upcoming budget for enhancing artificial intelligence capabilities.

A significant portion of this—$2 billion—is being designated for a fund to facilitate access to computing resources and technical infrastructure.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau revealed this initiative in Montreal on April 7 during his government’s pre-budget tour.

The Liberals have been conducting campaign-style events across the country to prepare for the financial plan on April 16.

Recent announcements have mainly focused on housing, with funds set aside to support the construction of apartments and affordable housing units.

Federal Housing Minister Sean Fraser indicated that a comprehensive housing plan will be unveiled before the budget day.
