Kananaskis, Alta., to Host G7 Leaders’ Summit in Canada Next June
Canada announces that it will host the G7 summit next year in the Rocky Mountains.
This announcement comes while this year’s leaders’ meeting is ongoing in Apulia, Italy.
The member countries—Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan—take turns hosting duties each year.
Next year’s gathering is scheduled to take place in Kananaskis, Alta., situated southwest of Calgary.
This location previously hosted the G8 summit in 2002 when Russia was still a member of the group.
This year’s summit is happening amidst the backdrop of ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
